Brief description of the role: The Regional Logistics Manager in charge of Logistics and Distribution is in charge of establishing the logistics, warehousing, and distribution strategies across all markets in collaboration with the country logistics managers to improve best practices in logistics, distribution, warehousing, inventory management, and cost control, among other projects.

accountable for directing and effectively running the logistics operations within 10 African markets. In order to ensure the effective transportation and storage of commodities from port to last mile, this position demands strong leadership, strategic thinking, and operational competence.

What you should anticipate doing:

  • functional supervision of national logistics managers.
  • The performance of the logistics teams is tracked, assessed, and reported.
  • Establish SOPs for managing inventory and the warehouse.
  • Streamline KPIs and workflows in logistics.
  • Find ways to increase operational efficiency, optimize processes, and reduce costs.
  • Improve and maintain the inventory management systems (SAP) in coordination with the financial systems.
  • Create and preserve connections with logistics service providers, such as freight forwarders and 3PL firms.
  • Control and disclosure KPIs for inventories and logistics
  • Maintain a current awareness of best practices and industry developments.
  • Make sure logistics activities adhere to health and safety laws.
  • responsible for efficiently and securely organizing the logistics center (warehouse).
  • Create a regional coordination and make sure that all areas use the same procedures.
  • Make sure NGUs follow specific procedures.
  • Records and management of internal logistics procedures
  • Recruiting, educating, and monitoring team performance
  • Establish SOPs for managing inventory and the warehouse.
  • Report and monitor each KPI.
  • Examine transportation choices to reduce distribution costs.
  • Contracts should be negotiated with 3PL providers, and performance should be tracked to verify SLA compliance.
  • Create reports and give senior management insight.

What we’re searching for

  • a minimum of three years of expertise in supply chain management, including storage and logistics.
  • 2 years of experience with any inventory management system, including those from SAP or ERP.
  • knowledge of leading a team.
  • capable of using Microsoft tools
  • speaks and writes English and French with ease.
  • business savvy.
  • exceptional familiarity with MS Office products.
  • very good time and organizational management abilities.
