To assist the newly established Finance, Investment and Global Relations Division (ENV/FIG), including regional multi-year programs that encourage environmental change in the OECD non-member countries, ENV is seeking one or more innovative Communications Coordinators. The selected candidate(s) will work closely with the ENV Communications Manager and other staff members and report to the Head of Divison and program managers.

Publications

  • In collaboration with the Directorate for Communications (COM), coordinate the preparation of the Division’s publications and papers, including selecting appropriate content for publishing.
  • Constantly check that publications and other communications materials adhere to OECD quality standards, rules, and clearance processes.
  • Manage the creation of publications and papers, including the continuous use of OECD branding and visual identities, development of visuals, and proofreading and editing of texts as needed.
  • Manage communications projects given to outside consultants chosen in consultation with the COM.
  • Develop online material distribution strategies with analysts, the ENV communications team, and COM while adhering to OECD corporate norms and requirements.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for communications regarding these events, including meeting announcements, the presence on the web and on social media before, during, and after the meetings.

Communications

  • Create visual and communication materials in accordance with the OECD corporate branding guidelines, such as flyers, folder designs, posters, backdrops, signage, totems, agenda cover pages, meeting documents, etc.
  • Contribute to the creation of policy briefs, brochures, newsletters, and other communications pieces for both traditional and social media.
  • Assist in creating content that is straightforward, non-technical, and appropriate for each of the target groups (donors, data users, data producers, etc.).
  • Organize information requests from within the organization, such as contributions to newsletters, brochures, and other OECD corporate communications products. In addition to supporting strategic coordination with COM on all aspects of communications planning and directorate contributions, make sure the deadlines are reached.

Internet Management

  • In accordance with the OECD corporate communications strategy, the design, and the administration of the new OECD web content management system (CMS), proactively manage a number of webpages relevant to the activities of the Division to improve their visibility and discoverability.
  • Maintain communication with program and project managers to guarantee that all pertinent web pages have accurate, up-to-date information.
  • Coordinate the horizontal integration of pertinent information throughout the OECD; conceptualize stories; and review text. It would be advantageous to have experience in developing data visualizations for editorial material to increase user traffic to important OECD Environment webpages.
  • Transfer the division’s pages and satellite sites to the new CMS, making sure the transition is seamless. As appropriate, coordinate with division colleagues, the COM Digital Visual Communications team, and the ENV Communications team to ensure that historical pages and content are archived properly.
  • ENV/ FIG page traffic is tracked and analyzed, and content is periodically updated, archived, or removed if necessary.
  • Work closely with the ENV DO Communications Team to develop communications strategies and social media campaigns for important events (high-level meetings, publication launches, etc.), make contacts with key stakeholders, and create content for social media and blog platforms (like X (ex Twitter), LinkedIn).
  • Maintain web-based platforms for internal and external communications, including distribution lists and event calendars (such as e-Share, ONE Communities, and MailChimp).
  • Respond to general questions received via the website and a general email address.
  • For ad hoc graphic design and branding initiatives, manage the procurement, contracts, and outputs of external suppliers while assuring their caliber and compliance with OECD standards and branding guidelines.

A candidate’s ideal profile

degree from a university in communications, marketing, political science, international studies, or a related discipline, or its equivalent.

Professional Experience

  • a minimum of three years of experience, especially in an international setting, in a communications position with duties similar to those.
  • strong coordination, project management, and event planning abilities.
  • strong drawing and editing abilities.
  • Team player with the capacity to work on various projects and teams.
  • Working knowledge of communications and environmental issues would be advantageous.
  • An advantage would be having knowledge of the activities of the organization.

Tools

  • T4 knowledge, including knowledge of BBV2 locations.
  • being able to create documents with ONE.Author.
  • experience working with Microsoft Teams, e-Share, and other IT collaborative platforms and Microsoft 365 Office applications.
  • Adobe InDesign and Illustrator are two programs that are masters of graphic design. The use of Photoshop and Premiere Pro would be beneficial.
  • It would be helpful if you were familiar with other visual tools, such as Visme, Adobe Express, etc.
  • Experience with video editing would be advantageous.

Languages

  • being proficient in one of the two OECD official languages (French or English) and having some knowledge of or interest in learning the other.
  • Spanish or Russian language proficiency would be advantageous.
