Job Description:
As the national director for World Vision Uganda, you will plan, organise, and oversee the execution of all elements of the organization’s ministry there. You will be a valuable part of the World Vision Partnership and a role model for the organization’s Twin Citizenship values, ensuring high ministry quality and impact. By representing the organisation both locally and internationally, you will support partnership life and togetherness. In order to ensure that World Vision’s operations are successful, you will lead the Uganda team in implementing the nation’s strategy in accordance with the organization’s global strategy, Our Promise.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Applicable master’s degree
- 10 years minimum of management experience, with a minimum of 5 years at the National/Country Director or comparable level in complex development programming. Desirable: Knowledge of the WV integrated programming areas of education, health & nutrition (including WASH), resilience & livelihoods, and child protection. Humanitarian emergency assistance and microfinance operations experience are plusses.
- Track record of successfully managing senior leadership teams and collaborating with boards
- Extensive prior experience managing sizable grants and collaborating with UN agencies (WFP, UNHCR, etc.), government donors (USAlD, EU, DFAT, FCDO, etc.), and other government organisations.
- Clear communicator (both orally and in writing), with the capacity to persuade the board, senior management team, personnel, donors, NGOs, public servants, local leaders, and other stakeholders and partners.
- 20% regular domestic internal travel to project locations is expected as a requirement for travel. It will be necessary to travel abroad 10% of the time.
