To reach the most underprivileged children on the planet, UNICEF works in some of the most difficult locations. to prevent their death. to protect their legal rights. to assist them in achieving their potential.

We strive to create a better future for everyone by working for every child, everywhere, every day, in 190 nations and territories.

We never give up either.

For each kid, Security, defense, and love

The mission of UNICEF Jamaica is to support the realization of each child’s rights.

We work to achieve this goal through collaborating with various parties, including the government, non-governmental organizations, activists in civil society, and businesses, in order to develop laws, policies, and programs that will affect how children may receive high-quality services. We are in a unique position to engage with everyone, including political officials who are in charge of making sure that laws and policies are in line with children’s rights, activists, and service providers who deal directly with children and their families. Most essential, we involve our children and teenagers in discussions about problems that have an impact on their lives in order to incorporate their voices.

In the Jamaica nation programme document (2022 to 2026), we have five priority areas with a focus on children in vulnerable situations:

1. Protection of kids

  1. Adaptation to climate change
  2. Instruction

4. social policy

  1. Achieve success

The Convention on the Rights of the Child, which Jamaica adopted in 1991, serves as the foundation for everything we do.
