Regarding the role

Engineers are needed to join Chime’s diverse and rapidly expanding team. You will work on the APIs that power our member-facing products and iterate on our banking platform. By influencing the architecture, developing APIs, and ensuring the continued stability of the code, you will own projects from beginning to end.

The starting base pay for this position and degree of expertise ranges from $ 102,400 to $195,900 CAD. Additionally, full-time workers are qualified for incentives like bonuses and attractive equity packages. Depending on your region, skills, credentials, and experience, the actual basic income provided may be more.

In this position, you can anticipate

• Implementing new and existing consumer product features in the backend through design, development, testing, refactoring, and scaling.
• Together with the mobile team, create robust, resilient APIs that will power our mobile app.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify member challenges and develop original solutions.
• proactively look for ways to make our systems more scalable and reliable.
• Cooperate with the engineering team to maintain and enhance the highest technical standards.

To succeed in this position, you must have;

• 2+ years of large-scale software development in a production environment
• knowledge of Ruby on Rails or other similar frameworks
• working knowledge of transactional databases and caching technologies
• being exposed to the architectural styles of large, complex online applications
• an appreciation for tested and maintainable code
• a drive to research and explore the most intricate aspects of how things work
• Experience with startups is a plus
