Samaritan’s Purse’s Statement of Purpose

A nondenominational evangelical Christian charity called Samaritan’s Purse helps those in need both physically and spiritually all around the world. In order to spread God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ, Samaritan’s Purse has assisted in addressing the needs of those who are victims of starvation, sickness, natural disasters, war, poverty, and natural catastrophe victims since 1970. The group works with the Church all around the world to spread the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Samaritan’s Purse’s Belief Statement:

  • We consider the Bible to be God’s inspired, alone inerrant, and supremely authoritative Word. (1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:15–17)
  • We hold that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are the three divine individuals who comprise the one true and living God. (John 10:30; Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6)
  • We hold to the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, as well as to His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the Father’s right hand, and imminent personal return in glory and power. (Matthew 1:23, John 1:1–4 and 1:29, Acts 1:11–2:22–24, Romans 8:34, 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 and 2 Corinthians 5:21, Philippians 2:5–11, Hebrews 1:1–4 and 4:15)
  • In order to be saved, a lost and sinful man must turn from his sin and place his faith in Jesus Christ, which results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit. We hold that all men, regardless of location, are lost and will face God’s judgment. Acts 4:12, Romans 3:23, 2 Corinthians 5:10–11, Ephesians 1:7 and 2:8–9, Titus 3:4–7, Luke 24:46–47, John 14:6,
  • We firmly believe in the Holy Spirit’s ongoing work, whose indwelling gives Christians the power to lead holy lives. Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Galatians 5:16–18; Ephesians 6:12; Colossians 2:6–10; John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8 and 4:31;
  • We think that both the saved and the lost will rise again, the former to eternal life and the latter to damnation and punishment for all eternity. (Revelation 20:11–15; 1 Corinthians 15:51–57)
  • We hold that all sincere followers of the Lord Jesus Christ are members of His body, the church, and that there is a spiritual oneness among all of His followers. Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12, 27
