Requirements

  • It is highly desirable that applicants have at least a master’s degree in a related field—such as the social sciences—and at least 10 years of managerial experience in initiatives of a similar nature.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing and/or designing monitoring, evaluation, and learning tasks, prior experience acting as a Chief of Party of a USAID contract
  • Excellent track record of working well with USAID, international donors, local government representatives, and implementation partners to interact and build connections.
  • A demonstrated awareness of USAID projects, practices, and policies, including the USAID CLA practice and the USAID Localization Initiative, as well as at least ten years of experience leading and/or designing monitoring, evaluation, and learning assignments
  • Ability to supervise, coach, and lead a whole project team with the capacity to provide excellent direction, leadership, and solutions on a range of MEL and CLA technical tasks.
  • experience in Uganda or Africa that is relevant
  • Excellent communication skills—verbal and written—and the capacity to produce thorough reports in English

principal obligations

The following are just a few examples of activities:

  • ​As the primary point of contact for Panagora, USAID, the Government of Uganda, implementing partners, and all stakeholders, provide leadership to the project team.
  • Oversee and guarantee the quality of all the duties assigned to you under the contract. These will involve reporting, data gathering and analysis, learning and dissemination, assessments, and evaluations.
  • Maintain responsiveness to USAID and the demands of the implementing partners.
  • Ensure that the resources for the activity are managed financially effectively in accordance with the budget, USAID compliance, and projected implementation workplans.
  • In order to properly manage the contract, identify problems and hazards, and provide oversight and quality assurance for all MEL tasks under the contract.
  • oversee the project team’s management, mentoring, and supervision, as well as the creation and delivery of all reports and recommended implementation strategies.
