Responsibilities

  • Participates in the process of choosing candidates for positions in the secretarial, clerical, and other categories; this includes assessing and screening applicants, creating candidate profiles, conducting preliminary interviews, searching for openings on the roster, and generating short lists of candidates.
  • Helps fill positions in all categories by starting and following up on reference checks and academic verifications, making sure pre-recruitment formalities are completed, figuring out salaries and associated benefits, and creating and sending offers of appointment and Statements of Emoluments.
  • helps in the planning and management of competitive recruitment exams.
  • oversees the upkeep of vacancy announcement files and the tracking of their status.

Education

equivalent to a high school diploma. For candidates who hold a first-level university degree, the required number of years of relevant experience is decreased by two years.

Experience

It takes at least seven years of steadily increasing responsibility in human resources management, administrative services, or a comparable field. Experience in data analytics or a related field of at least one year is preferred. It is necessary to have prior knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) or comparable human resource software. It would be ideal if you had knowledge of United Nations or other similar international originations rules and regulations.

Languages

The working languages of the United Nations Secretariat are English and French. The listed position requires fluency in English. It would be ideal to know another official UN language.

Assessment
