    A Summary of the Position

    The Country Finance Intern will assist in carrying out authorized payments using cash and checks as well as learning on the job how to efficiently and carefully handle cash while keeping the cash book updated and reconciled. Additionally, this makes efforts to guarantee that SNV funds are utilized as effectively as possible.

    Position Description

    Responsibilities:

    • Help keep the cash books up to date and reconcile them every day to ensure that the various bank accounts are operating effectively and efficiently and never going overdrawn.
    • Assist in checking the accuracy, completeness, and correctness of codes on all receipts and documents related to spending requests before creating payment vouchers.
    • Help with the accurate and chronological filing of documents and transaction vouchers, as well as supporting paperwork for storage and retrieval.
    • Help management and other parties by retrieving accounting data and transaction papers from the accounting software system or box files.
    • help with the prompt uploading of transactions into SAP.
    • aid in the evaluation of the Grantees’ Financial Reports that have been filed.
    • help with prompt SAP project invoice posting
    • Assist in assessing the effectiveness of the operations carried out each month and make sure that all associated invoices have been received and posted in SAP on time.

    Qualifications

    • a degree in accounting, finance, or business studies, or the equivalent amount of relevant work experience.
    • Working experience as an intern, ideally with international NGOs; excellent accounting and finance management abilities; familiarity with computer accounting software; and knowledge of the fundamentals of accounting.
    • excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.
    • Ability to create and maintain favorable workplace relationships and work well as a team.
    • willingness to work periodically in physically demanding circumstances while traveling to and from remote locations.
    • Excellent documentation skills and computer literacy are requirements.
    • Highly developed cultural awareness and the capacity to function well in a global setting with individuals from many racial and cultural backgrounds.
    • Ability to act as a crisis manager or troubleshooter when called upon.
    • exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication abilities, including coaching, negotiating, and influencing.
    • Excellent ability to organize and manage time.
