Extended Description
- Maintains accurate bibliographic records of print and digital serial purchases, holdings, and access rights in a variety of systems, including the Integrated Library System, the Electronic Resource Management System (EZB), the discovery tool, and the Italian Serials Catalogue ACNP; Manages print and electronic serial resources lifecycle processes for firm orders or packages;
- gathers, evaluates, and communicates usage data to inform collection development and acquisition choices;
- oversees the administrative facets of networking and communication with other libraries to share information on the most recent advancements in the domains of open access publication, copyright issues, and research dissemination;
- brief informational material explaining the processes to access various publications is compiled from the source that has been given approval and formatted for distribution on the ICTP website;
- Publish Open Assess resources, together with details on financing possibilities for Open Assess and updates on accessible repositories;
- does any additional tasks that may be necessary to ensure the work team’s success.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- A secondary, technical, or vocational education is complete.
EXPERIENCE AT WORK
- At least three (3) years of experience working in a research library that is appropriate.
- Work experience in a research institute or in an international setting.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
- Excellent communication skills for building and maintaining working relationships and collaboration with coworkers from the same unit as well as external publishers, vendors, and service providers.
- The capacity to function both independently and jointly in a team setting.
- Excellent accuracy and detail-oriented data input.
- Expertise with computers and related common applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in either Italian or English, as well as good oral and written communication skills in the other language.
LANGUAGES
- It is advantageous to have good understanding of another UN official language, such as Arabic, Russian, Chinese, French, or Spanish.
