Organizational Structure and Purpose

The successful candidate will be based in Addis Ababa and will have primary responsibility for managing and supporting the ICT infrastructure and application system implementation for the Family Assistance Program (FAP) in Addis Ababa. They will also be directly under the programmatic supervision of the Family Assistance Program (FAP) Project Coordinator, the technical supervision of the project ICT officer, and the direct supervision of the National Project Officer (FAP). Position Title: ICT Assistant

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

The chosen applicant will explicitly carry out:

  1. liable for the internal coordination of all ICT/IS-related activities supporting the Family Assistance Program that will be formed in Addis Abeba;
  2. Make sure that every ICT/IS-related request is handled promptly and accurately, while effectively assigning resources and assistance when needed;
  3. Support the IOM FAP networking by installing systems, network components, and software, planning necessary system upgrades, ICT infrastructure modifications, and donor IT requirements;
  4. Processing data and information, conducting analysis in relation to the creation of statistics, reporting, and publishing materials pertaining to the FAP, and supporting further technological integration to continuously increase the efficacy and efficiency of the systems in place are all things that should be done;
  5. Apply IOM ICT Standards, Policies, and Data Protection Principles.
  6. To guarantee effective use of system, IT, and telecommunications resources, develop and implement ICT training for all IOM FAP end users, including instruction on the IOM software platform and setup requirements;
  7. To avoid and reduce downtime or service interruptions, ensure the necessary performance and stability of network services and servers (application systems and databases, appointment systems, LAN, WAN, messaging, Internet access, etc.). Ensure daily supervision, adequate backup completion, and project ICT inventory;
  8. Help with the compilation of reports, statistics tables, data analysis, graphics, and the publication of information concerning IOM activities in a clear, understandable, and appealing style.
  9. Communicate with local ICT service providers and vendors to ensure timely and adequate delivery of supplies and services in accordance with the procurement of the mission;
  10. Keep all FAP-related information private and preserve its confidentiality in compliance with the rules and regulations.
  11. All ICT operations and problems should be promptly reported to the project’s ICT officer. You should also take proactive measures to reduce fraud and other wrongdoing, as well as keep an eye on the accuracy of records that contain personal data.
  12. Carry out any additional tasks that may be allocated.

Qualifications and Experience Necessary

Education

  • Computer science degree from a university, or a comparable combination of relevant academic training and a lot of technically responsible expertise.
  • An asset is certification in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Application or Microsoft Dynamics CRM Customization and Configuration.
  • Experience in the creation and architecture of Microsoft CRM on-premises or in the cloud.
  • A technical certification from Microsoft (MCCSA, MCSE, MCDBA) or a certification in IT project management would be a great benefit.
  • knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office, antivirus software, and utilities in a multi-site setting

Experience

  • For candidates with a bachelor’s degree, the required amount of relevant experience in designing, developing, implementing, or managing information systems and end-user support, including web-based database applications and thin-client Web-based applications, is three years; for candidates with a diploma, the required amount is seven years.
  • Shown mastery of Microsoft Office programs, including Publisher, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • An advantage would be prior employment in businesses serving the service sector and in international organizations.

Languages

  • It’s necessary to speak and write English well.
  • Native language proficiency is advantageous.
