general purpose of the role
In the context of coordinated operations for the fight against food insecurity and undernutrition in the regions of Gao, Ménaka, and Ségou, the field coordinator oversees a multidisciplinary team. the seamless operation of all actions carried out on its foundation and must have a full picture of them. He is a crucial member of the Coordination group. He or she works closely with the local technical experts under the direction of Action Against Hunger’s Mali Country Director.
Principal Obligations:
- Coordination of the country strategy implementation by ACF in the intervention regions.
- Coordination of all field programme implementation
- Manage the teams in its area of intervention
- Encourage positive relationships and effective communication with coordinating teams
- Represents ACF and maintains relationships with all relevant parties in its intervention region, including partners, authorities, UN organisations, and NGOs.
Do you fit the description of the ideal candidate?
Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, law, sociology, politics, international development, or another related field.
Technical expertise in particular: command of project cycle management.
Understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, donor regulations, logistics, and security management.
Years of Experience: It is crucial to have at least four years of professional experience in the field of humanitarian relief or international cooperation, especially expertise managing difficult emergencies. Experience with basic management is advantageous.
Understanding of the humanitarian field:
- Excellent project management capabilities as well as strong analytical abilities in the area of security and humanitarian aid.
- strong local relationship management skills in challenging security circumstances
- strong context-appropriate communication and bargaining abilities
Knowledge of the organisation: It’s advantageous to be familiar with Kitlog and the intervention areas of Action Against Hunger.
Languages: Fluent French speaker. English intermediate.
Information systems: Very strong Microsoft Office skills.
Mobility (national/international): The ability to travel domestically and abroad (workshop in Madrid) as well as frequent travels to the intervention regions.
Our incentive programme
We suggest the following legal terms for a potential integration into a dynamic organisation with global reach:
- 12-month fixed-term employment agreement that is renewed.
- Post based in Gao with travel to the intervention zones and the sub-bases in Gao, Ségou, and Ménaka.
- Depending on the participation model (V3), the candidate’s experience, and the responsibilities, the salary will range from €53,082 to €62,090 gross per year (including per diem and living expenses).
Moreover:
- Accommodations funded by the organisation;
- Aid with transportation expenses A/R home, mission, and expatriate’s home;
a one-week vacation every three months, plus €215 more and the expense of transport to the reference region; - support for the yearly leave flight for the expat (one per year);
28 days of paid vacation annually; - Insurance coverage for health, evacuation, repatriation, accidents, travel, and expatriate living;
- Child allowance is up to (100 euros per child, per month) for the first three children, 50 euros for the fourth, and 25 euros for the fifth.
