Position Summary:
MSI has a dynamic Strategic Communications team that is hiring an intern to provide support on a variety of different communications activities and products. Internships require a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule and is presently remote due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a paid position.
Responsibilities:
Assist with content management system (CMS) transition, content updates, and maintenance of MSI’s website, under the supervision of the Strategic Communications team.
Write digital content and design basic graphics for MSI’s website and digital platforms.
Post social media and track analytics across MSI’s social media channels such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.
Draft project write-ups that highlight key milestones and successes.
Provide support for project launches and closeouts.
Complete special projects as assigned by the Strategic Communications team.
Conduct research related to special projects and proposals.
Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in international relations, journalism, or communications strongly preferred.
Experience with major social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube strongly preferred.
Experience with graphic design in Canva or a similar program strongly preferred.
Experience with CMS tools such as Drupal and WordPress and basic website management and content development preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software programs quickly, strong background in Microsoft Excel preferred.
Professional demeanor and diplomatic communication skills, especially via email and by phone.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize within a multi-tasking environment.
Strong writing/editing and organizational skills.
Ability to work on deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work minimum 20 hours per week required.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, required.

Pay Transparency Statement:
The compensation for our internship program is $16.20 per hour.
