Location: Brighton/Hybrid

Contract: Full time permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £45,000-£50,000 dependent on experience

The Role

Itad’s Bid & Business Development Manager plays a key role in managing significant proposals, and the successful delivery of our BD objectives. Working closely with the Head of Business Development, this role supports our growth through managing the process of identifying business opportunities, building relationships and developing proposals. This position plays a fundamental role in supporting the organisation to deliver our business development strategies and business plans.

Your responsibilities will include:

 Managing the preparation and submission of key proposals, and taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process;
 Overseeing capture planning and early pre-positioning for upcoming opportunities, and ensure well-informed bid/no-bid decisions are being made;
 Contributing to technical proposals – both in terms of content and presentation
 Ensuring that the winning strategy and win themes are articulated effectively throughout bid responses
 Effective line management of Business Development team members;
 Managing the process of identifying bidding opportunities;
 Supporting the development and utilisation of Itad’s BD systems;
 Ensuring Itad quality standards are met;
 Marketing Itad to external partners and associates.
We are looking for someone who has: Proposal/Bid Management

 Proven experience coordinating the preparation of key proposals
 An understanding of the international development landscape, and preferably have experience of developing business opportunities for clients such as the FCDO, multilaterals, UN agencies and foundations.
 Strong understanding of commercial aspects of bidding, including risk management
 Exceptional writing, proofreading and editing skills, with the ability to adapt style to different audiences and channels 
 Confident at supporting across the whole organisation in playing a leading role in growing Itad’s pipeline, working closely with Itad’s technical leads
 Confident in negotiating, with a commercial acumen
 Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise a varying workload
 Demonstrated experience in ensuring that quality standards and processes are applied
Networking and Relationship Management

 Proven experience of managing others and being responsible for supporting continuous learning and development
 Comfortable communicating information to help key stakeholders develop their understanding and learning
 Lead on developing BD knowledge management systems and processes for sharing learning mechanisms to enhance the interface between Itad and our external clients, partners and associates
 Confident in building new and existing relationships with external consultants, associates and partners
 Experienced in working with a wide range of backgrounds and cultures
