Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates operating health centers across the U.S. Planned Parenthood Action Fund is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund seeks a seasoned Senior Director of Video Production to lead video projects for the organization and manage a growing team of producers, animation and editing staff. This job reports to the Vice President, Brand & Culture Strategy.

Purpose:

â—Provide overarching video strategy for PPFA and PPAF, applying a holistic lens to individual projects and ensuring consistency of messaging

â—Maintain a comprehensive view of the Video work

â—Transform overarching brand strategy and project strategy into video strategies, by absorbing key insights from strategic briefs, leadership conversations, and research

â—Brainstorm and execute against distribution strategies and plans for videos in collaboration with content teams across PPFA and external partners (e.g. paid media partners)

â—Ensure the Video team is able to deliver against the current content needs, while paving the way for the continual development of the content engine and new forms of video content

â—Supervise three direct reports, providing thought partnership, mentorship, and support on key initiatives and leadership of the internal team

â—Design video team roadmap to direct internal and external video teams through all phases of production and ensures alignment of roadmap to divisional and organizational goals

â—Lead, inspire, and encourage the professional development of our growing internal Video team of producers, post-producers, and editors

â—Serve as the go-to thought partner for video for leaders across PPFA and PPAF

Delivery:

â—Manage the Video team budget

â—Develop resourcing plans for Video across complex workstreams and project teams

â—Ensure our video outputs are strategically sound, responsibly produced, and within brand guidelines

â—Present video concepts to internal clients, and facilitate feedback sessions, sometimes shaping ideas and sometimes initiating them

â—Build and maintain a repository of potential production partners, ï¬lm/video directors, animation studios, stock footage houses

â—Respond in a thoughtful way to strategic shifts and stakeholder feedback, while maintaining a clear point of view

â—Manage people and projects through a lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion to foster an environment of belonging within the Video team and across project teams

â—Stay abreast of the latest trends, themes, and people in the video industry, bringing those inspirations to the team and work

Engagement:

â—Champion the brand while navigating the ever-changing needs of a complex federation

â—Anticipate the needs of the organization, and prepare the team for success in the long-term work

â—Work closely with leadership and stakeholders, clearly articulating video strategy and evangelizing Video team work, to support afï¬liate and national initiatives and campaigns

â—Work closely with the Editorial team to develop concepts, narratives, and external-facing messaging

â—Work closely with the Creative team to develop concepts, video treatments, and animated / motion / live action storytelling

â—Provide thought partnership through the lens of Video to, and collaborate with, the Vice President of Brand & Culture and the other Brand Leads through regular meetings / planning sessions, and the development and execution of shared goals

â—Respond in a thoughtful way to strategic shifts and stakeholder feedback, while maintaining a clear point of view

â—Manage conflicting priorities and limited bandwidth

â—Collaborate across divisions, functions, and geographies

â—Juggle multiple projects and deadlines

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

â—12+ years experience in a video leadership role, 7+ years managing a production team

â—Experience managing and inspiring video/production teams to do their best work and grow in their jobs

â—Extensive experience creating beautiful treatments and telling stories that live within brand guidelines and align with the creative vision for the overarching work

â—Passion for storytelling, branding, and creative

â—Detailed and organized thinker, who can help team members show up this way as well

â—Strong portfolio of video work, across media, with a digital engagement focus

â—Bachelor’s degree in cinematography, ï¬lm, advertising, or relevant ï¬eld

â—Agency and/or non-proï¬t federated model experience a strong plus

TRAVEL: 15-25% domestic

$156,000 – $161,000 a year
