Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Health Adviser, the Health Officer will work as part of the Head Office Health team coordinating healthcare for Concern Worldwide international staff and their dependants. The role includes delivering health and wellbeing support and training to staff in all Concern’s locations and has both a medical and administrative focus.

If you join us, this is what you will be doing:

*Co-ordinate and guide pre and post assignment medicals for Concern’s international staff group. This includes organizing and tracking the following:Medical examinations (including vaccinations and medication prescriptions);
*Health briefings;
*Resilience briefings;
*Post assignment briefings.
Provide administrative support to the Health Unit using MS Office systems;
*Process confidential medical documentation, invoices, payments and data;
*Co-ordinate and guide Dublin and UK staff in relation to medical requirements for business travel;
*Liaise with staff who are seeking support for physical and/or mental health or illness using existing resources and signposting. Develop health plans as necessary;
*Monitor individual illness and illness trends;
*Provide appropriate assistance when a person is medically evacuated;
*Deliver staff health briefings, webinars and training as necessary;
*Coordinate and manage briefing and information tools related to Health Unit activities;
*Coordinate webinars, presentations, and training and information sessions as required, for Dublin/UK and for overseas staff. Assist in delivery of training modules to staff;
*Liaise with Concern’s insurer in relation to claims and renewals;
*Input and provide administrative assistance to the development of briefing documents and guidance notes for various staff groups related to any local or global outbreaks;
*Contribute to the development of policy and procedures within the Health Unit and the HR department

*Keep up to date with current relevant research in the area of health and wellbeing, ensuring that this learning is shared within the team and reflected in our work. *Recommend and adopt new ways of working, creating and revising documentation where necessary.
*Develop networks within the sector in the area of travel and public health provision and support;
*Accept, advance and pursue any new objectives or responsibilities that may be assigned by the Health Advisor;
*At all times act within your scope of professional practice;
*Provide cover for the Concern Emergency phone on a rota basis;
Any other duties as required.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

*Minimum diploma level qualification in nursing or allied healthcare and experience working in a busy medical setting.
*Ability to be flexible and adaptable to various and competing needs within the role;
*An interest in tropical health and infectious disease;
*Experience of compiling medical reports and maintaining confidentiality;
*Excellent proficiency with Microsoft systems and other IT systems
Excellent organisational and administration skills;
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Ability to work as part of a team and independently;
*Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
Empathy with Concern’s mission and values;
*Willingness to travel overseas if required.

Desirable:

*Experience in the areas of Public Health, Community Health, and /or Occupational Health;
*Experience coordinating or delivery of training and events;
Oral and written French language skills;
*Travel/tropical medicine qualification or experience;
Interest in the sector.
*Stress Management training/qualification/experience would be an advantage;

You will report to the Health Advisor and work with all Concern HQ Directorates and overseas missions

The full time salary range for the Health Officer is €42,946 to €50,524 (band 4). This is a permanent contract
