PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

IFES is seeking to recruit a Senior Training and Inclusion Consultant to support its work in Asia Pacific. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing technical assistance around inclusion and training; engagement with EMBs; and supporting democracy and governance interventions. Prior international development experience or experience in the field of human rights is strongly preferred. The Consultant will provide technical and management support to programs in Asia Pacific, as well as assisting IFES partner organizations with technical advancement and innovation.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Provide technical guidance to IFES and local partners on the development of training curricula and facilitation of training sessions.
 Support drafting, review and revision of training curricula.
 
 Provide support to operational planning efforts, including planning for training, gender, women’s leadership, disability rights and other priority areas. 
 Provide recommendations to election management bodies and other electoral stakeholders to increase the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the electoral and political process.
 Provide capacity building support to organizations of people with disabilities (OPDs) and other inclusion-focused IFES partners around accessibility initiatives, such as implementing accessible audits.
 Assist Country Directors in ensuring timely execution of project activities, strategic development and program implementation.
 Develop and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, donors and partners.
 Prepare papers, reports, briefings on program activities related to trainings, organizational development, electoral administration and gender equality and inclusion work.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field; Master’s degree in international relations, political science, international development preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

At least 10 years relevant experience in international development or related field. Experience with program management and oversight of single or multiple projects. Extensive experience and familiarity with Asia-Pacific regional context.

RELATED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. Thorough familiarity with USAID and other international donor regulations and reporting requirements preferred. Experience working on democracy and governance programs, particularly in restrictive and/or politically sensitive environments required. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing. Collaborative, team-oriented individual.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Fluency in English is required.

TRAVEL:

Travel is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
